Ethan Udovich
Ethan was born in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Delaware and a Master of Music in Voice and Opera Performance from Indiana University.
Credits include the Venditore di canzonette & Tenorino in Il Tabarro (Saarländisches Staatstheater), Giuseppe in La traviata (Saaländisches Staatstheater and Annapolis Opera), Maestro Trabuco in La forza del destino (Saarländisches Staatstheater), and a role cover of Oronte in Alcina (Ensemble OrQuesta at the Grimeborn Festival, London and for a guest performance in Prieux-du-Perche, France). Main stage opera credits with Indiana University include Rinuccio in Gianni Schicci, Fisherman in The Three Hermits, and a Street Singer in the Bernstein Mass. Further opera credits include Dons Basilio & Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Ensemble OrQuesta Academy, Giles Corey in The Crucible with Berlin Opera Academy, and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with both the Bloomington Chamber Opera and the Austrian American Mozart Academy in Salzburg. Credits with the University of Delaware include Rustighello in Lucrezia Borgia, Ferrando in Così fan tutte, Judge Danforth in The Crucible, and Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
Ethan has appeared as a concert soloist in Handel’s Messiah at Christchurch Priory with the Grange Choral Society, Christchurch and in the Mozart Requiem with the Hastings Philharmonic. He also sang as a tenor soloist in Mozart’s Regina Coeli K. 276 with the Delaware Choral Scholars, a summer festival and study abroad program in Aix-en-Provence, France.
He performed and produced a song recital with the Theater im Viertel (TiV) in Saarbrücken. The concert featured various Lieder from Schubert’s Schwanengesang as well as songs by the composers Duparc, Glinka, Tosti, and a contemporary pacifistic American work, “The War Prayer,” by Steven Mark Kohn that sets text taken from a short story by Mark Twain.
He has collaborated with conductors Sébastien Rouland, Stefan Neubert, Justus Thorau, Nathan Blair, Nickolas Kudo, Julius Zeman, Peter Leonard, Constantine Kitsopoulos, Michael Christie, Arthur Fagen, David Neely, Gary Thor Wedow, and Marcio da Silva.
He has worked with stage directors Dean Anthony, Carroll Freeman, Jennifer Williams, Nic Muni, James Marvel, Lorenzo Fioroni, Wolfgang Nägele, Chris Alexander, Julia Lwowski, Tomo Sugao, Manuel Schmitt, Jakob Peters-Messer, Gil Mehmert, Peter Lund, Alexandra Szemerédy, Magdolna Parditka, Jan Eßinger, Susanne Lietsow, Eva-Maria Höckmayr, Carlos Wagner, and Krystian Lada.
Ethan is active in his local church and private concert scene where he regularly performs sacred works for services of various denominations and for events like weddings and birthday parties.
He is currently based in Saarbrücken, Germany.
